Mrs. Samantha Barnes
Hi! I love being a part of the 3rd grade team at Micro Elementary! I am a product of Johnston County Public Schools. I attended Glendale-Kenly Elementary, North Johnston Middle, and North Johnston High School as a student. I graduated from East Carolina University (Go Pirates!) with a degree in Elementary Education with a K-12 Reading Concentration. I have worked in Johnston County Schools since 2004. I have previously taught Kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade, and Physical Education throughout my 15 years as a teacher. I was also a Teacher Assistant for three years before I began teaching. I love working with children, and I cannot wait to work with your child to see what we can achieve this year!
A little bit about my family: My husband, Alan, teaches Physical Education and coaches Boys' Basketball and Boys' Track at Archer Lodge Middle School. We have a 9 year-old son, Jake, and a 2 year-old daughter, Ellie, who keep us busy, too. Jake is in 4th Grade at Micro this year!
We attend Micro First Baptist Church. We enjoy going to the beach, spending time together, watching and playing sports, and I love shopping.
I look forward to meeting each of you, and working with you this year. Please let me know if I can ever do anything for your child or your family!
