I miss you guys so much!!! Virtual learning for students will begin on March 30th. All assignments will be a supplemental review. These assignments are not graded & are optional for students. You can access review assignments via the NJMS webpage or through my Google Classroom beginning Thursday, March 26th.

Hello my name is Poconna Cuddington. I grew up in the beautiful mountains of Asheville North Carolina! I graduated from the College Of Education at ECU (go pirates) in 2003 with a K-6 teaching degree. I have a reading certification (K-12) as well as being AIG certified (K-12)! I am also certified to teach 6-9 Social Studies. I love to read and spend time with my family! My husbands name is Matt. He is a teacher and coach at Smithfield Selma High School. He loves to play basketball and coach! We have two sons Brayden and Max! I am so excited you are in my class this year!
Academy of Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing to be held at NJHS next school year for rising 9th graders
In Fall of 2020, North Johnston HIgh School will start an Academy of Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing for Freshmen. Interested NJMS 8th Grade students and parents can follow link: www.johnston.k12.nc.us/domain/9741 to learn more about academy and apply. Acceptance into academy is for freshmen only in NJHS attendance area. Application window has opened and will close April 15.
The 8th Grade Dance will be held on Friday, March 20th from 6:00-9:00 PM in the cafetorium. More details will be provided to 8th grade students on Wednesday, January 29th during JAG time at a grade level meeting with administration and 8th grade teachers. A letter will be sent home with all students on Wednesday, January 29th. A parent meeting will be held for all families who are interested in assisting with the dance on Tuesday, February 4th in the media center at 6:00 pm.
NC Check-Ins are interim assessments developed by the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI) that are aligned to North Carolina grade-level content standards (for reading and mathematics) and North Carolina Essential Standards (for Science). More information is available inside.
