Welcome to Fifth Grade! 


I am originally from Benson and attended Johnston County Schools all of my life. I am married and have twin boys that attend school at Four Oaks as well. In the past, I have taught second, third, and I currently teach Language Arts in fifth grade.

     Important Information/Dates:

     April 10-11: MAP testing

    April 10- Progress Reports will go home

    April 15: Parker, Stephenson, Plaster, Morris- Field Trip to Carolina Beach. Please have your child at school that morning by 6:30 am. We will be leaving on charter buses at 7am and will return between 6:30 and 7pm. 

    April 19-April 26: Spring Break


    We will be working on the following throughout the 4th quarter:

    Inferencing skills (fiction and non-fiction text)

    Comparing perspectives on the same topic

    Using context clues to determine the meaning of unknown words

    Economics and Government
