This will be my 22nd year teaching in Johnston County. I received my degree in Physical Education from Keene State College in Keene N.H.

Along with my degree in Physical Education I am a certified ACEP coach.


    Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year!

    Looking forward to meeting all the new students and seeing all the returning students

    Active Life Style Log

    Starting the week of September 16, students will receive an Active Lifestyle Log.

    The Active Lifestyle Log is an opportunity for students to chart their daily physical activities.

    Students that are active for 45 minutes a day, 5 days a week, for six consecutive weeks can turn in their logs to me.

    At the end of the school year students will receive their award during their classes award ceremony.

    The students may log any six weeks during the school year.

    If students are involved in physical activities outside of school (football, cheer, dance ,gymnastics, etc.) they can chart their practices to receive the award. 

    Students may also add to their log Phys. ED. class and recess as long as they are being active. 

    The Active Lifestyle Log is due April 6, 2020.

    Safety Patrol

    Safety Patrol is for 5th grade students that interested in helping around the school.

    Jobs include: Putting up the flag, Taking down the flag, Supplying the nurses office with ice,

    Hall duty, Cafeteria duty. 

    Applications will go home in Friday folders on September 6th, and must be returned signed by Wednesday September 11.

    You can give them to your homeroom teachers or Mr. LaPlante.

    The first semester Safety Patrol will be announced on Thursday September 12, and jobs will be explained on Friday September 13.

    Running Club

    Running club will begin on Tuesday October 8th (weather permitting)

    Students in grades 2-5 are welcome. 

    After orientation day a sign-up sheet will be outside the gym.

    Running club will last from after car/bus duty till 5:15.

    Things students will do in running club:

    Sprints, Distance Running, Agility Run, Indian Run. Tag games, Relay races.

    Please make sure on club days you have running shoes and a water container.


    Acceptable Footwear: Basketball, tennis, running, soccer turfs, baseball turfs, tennis. 

    If you are unsure ask Mr. LaPlante 


    Shoes not allowed: cowboy or work boots, crocs, sandals, flip flops, dress shoes, docksiders.

    Parents are invited to come and run with their child!  Please be sure to sign-in at the front office.
