Mrs. Sherri Cabascango

          I am originally from Western Pennsylvania.   I earned my BS in education from Houghton College, NY after student teaching at an Inner-City Buffalo school followed by an International School in Zurich,  Switzerland.  I began my teaching career in Miami, FL.  I earned my MA in Linguistics at Florida International University.  I also met my husband, John while I was in Miami.  Since then John and I have settled in Clayton, NC.  We have three sons -  Esteban 19 who attends the University of Richmond,  Santiago 16  & Cristian 13. I have worked here at Cleveland Elementary for 7 years.

  • JC Board of Education Special Session set for June 25

    The Johnston County Board of Education has called a Special Session meeting for Friday, June 25 at 5:00 p.m. The meeting will be held virtually. The open session portions of the meeting and all announcements will be accessible to the public via the livestream available online.

  • Summer Meal Service begins June 7

    As the school year comes to a close, JCPS meal service will now operate at 9 sites during the summer months.

  • JCPS Outdoor Mask Mandate Lifted

    While face masks are still required in all of our indoor facilities, students, staff, and guests of our campuses are no longer required to wear a face covering when outdoors. Students and staff may continue to wear masks when participating in recess or outdoor activities if they choose to do so.

  • 2021-2022 JCPS Preschool applications now open

    The online application for the Johnston County Public Schools Preschool Program is now available. Parents who are interested in the JCPS Preschool Program are encouraged to apply early, as availability is on a first come, first served basis. The application window closes on June 30th.

  • Pre-K - 5th Grade to return to Plan A on March 1

    The Johnston County Board of Education voted to return Pre-K - 5th grade to Plan A, four days per week, beginning on Monday, March. 1.
