Mr. Zachary Finkbiner

Degrees and Certifications:

Mr. Zachary Finkbiner

Hello! My name is Mr. Zachary Finkbiner. This is my sixth year teaching at Clayton Middle School. I teach sixth grade science.

I grew up in Wooster, Ohio, a small town near Cleveland. In 2013, I moved to North Carolina to be closer to my family. I am married to my beautiful wife, Katie. You may see her in a couple of years at Clayton High School, since she teaches ninth grade science there. When we're not teaching, we enjoy spending time with our husky/shepherd mix, Scout.

Prior to moving to North Carolina, I attended Bowling Green State University (GO FALCONS!!!) in Ohio. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in middle childhood education with concentrations in math and science.

When I'm not focused on education, I am a stained glass craftsman. I like stained glass because it requires knowledge of geometry, and it allows me to work with my hands. I am also a drummer. I played the snare drum in my high school marching band. I am also a member of the Holly Springs Community Band.

Below are some of my stained glass projects.

I am looking forward to getting to know each of you and your families as we explore the wonderful world of science!
