Mrs. Yeimy Del Rio Pope
I am from Bogota, Colombia. I have twelve years of experience and this will be my sixth year at Polenta. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Education with emphasis in Spanish and English and a Master's Degree in TESOL. I taught Preschool, Elementary, College, and language centers back in my home country. I completed a CLIL course and attended Dual Language, Math, Science training and ESL Symposiums.
I was selected by JCPS into the Educational Leadership Practicum (ELP 2017-2018) which gave me many insights on how to become an effective leader when building relationships with my students and colleagues. I participated in the NCAE Instructional Leadership Institute (2018) which is grounded in standards-based instruction as a way to bring equity to our classrooms to provide opportunity for our students. I was also invited by JCPS to present my project "The Traveling Backpack" at the reIGNITE conference (2019).
Thank you for being part of the Dual Language program, for your dedication and for giving me the opportunity to be part of your child's education!
