Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Pam Martinez
Greetings from room 508! Our class currently consists of eight students and three staff members. Mrs. Brooks and Ms. Raynor have previously served as assistants in our class and I am delighted to welcome them back. Two former students have relocated to other schools and we wish them well. They will be missed, but not forgotten. Two new friends have joined our roster. We are welcoming a fifth grade gentleman and a fourth grade lady.
Please allow me to share a brief biography for the benefit of our new families. I graduated from Smithfield-Selma High and received my degree in early childhood education from Campbell University. I am married and have three adult children. Following 20+ years in reg ed classes, I obtained my EC certification and settled happily into my current position at Polenta. My hobbies include reading historical fiction, shopping at thrift stores, watching movies on the big screen, and trips to the North Carolina mountains. In addition, I am intrigued by all animals and enjoy learning about their ability to survive and thrive.
Enough about me! Our students are the real stars of the show! My class is grateful for the generous support of administrators, co-workers and K-5 peers. We particpate in school-wide functions and are valued (as we should be) as important members of the Polenta community. My goal is to serve my students diligently and to make every possible effort to meet their unique needs. It is, indeed, a privilege and an honor to serve as their teacher.
Thank you, in advance, for joining Mrs. Brooks, Ms. Raynor and me as we anticipate a productive and pleasant year!
