Welcome to 3rd Grade. I hope you have had a fun and restful summer. Here is a little bit of information about me. I have been teaching for twenty-two years all in Johnston County School. I taught Second Grade for six years at Selma Elementary. I then transfered to Polena Elementary to be closer to home. I have taught Second Grade at Polenta for ten years. This will be my sixth year of teaching Third Grade at Polenta. I'm looking forward to another wonderful year full of learning and fun.

Johnston County Public Schools will hold a Virtual Job Fair on Wednesday, April 21. The event will be held in a Zoom Conference format from 2:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m. Candidates will have the opportunity to meet with various school principals about career opportunities in each of the district’s 47 schools.
New guidance given to schools in the Strong Schools NC Public Health toolkit states that daily temperature and symptom screening questions prior to entry are no longer required. We will no longer screen individuals who enter JCPS facilities for COVID-19 symptoms. This begins on Monday, April 5 for all staff and on Monday, April 12 for students upon their return from spring break.
The online application for the Johnston County Public Schools Preschool Program is now available. Parents who are interested in the JCPS Preschool Program are encouraged to apply early, as availability is on a first come, first served basis. The application window closes on June 30th.
Johnston County Public Schools has updated its plan to mark senior milestones, including prom and graduation while adhering to guidance from the Johnston County Public Health Department and the CDC in regards to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
