We have had lots of Dr. Seuss fun this week! We have also been taking good care of our eggs in the hopes that we will have some baby chicks next week. We will be learning about lots of oviparous animals (animals that hatch from eggs) next week. We will also be learning more about maps and globes. In math, we are working with larger (teen) numbers and addition and subtraction using objects and/or pictures. Some of the children are continuing to have difficulty with recognizing these numbers. Please practice this at home.
In addition, I have noticed that some of the children are still struggling with sight words. PLEASE practice these at home each day. This will make a big difference in your child's reading. Remember - these need to be words that are immediately recognized - not sounded out. Thank you for you help with this.
We are in need of a few items for our classroom. We need: small/regular size pump bottles of hand sanitizer, birthday wrapping paper, items for our treasure box
If you are willing to provide any of these items, we would greatly appreciate it. In addition, because we will be having a late lunch, we are planning to provide a snack for our students following the play on March 12. Please let me know if you could send in a package of juice boxes for that day.
Save the Date: On Friday, March 29, will be having student led conferences in our classroom. Please mark your calendar for this as it will be a very special time for your child and you will want to be here for it. More information will come home soon!
Please make sure that your child is bringing a snack and water/juice each day.
John was our "Star of the Week" this week. Check out his video on the link!
