Ms. Addison

 Happy Birthday Ms Ashley

Hello! My name is Brittany Addison and I’m so excited to have the opportunity to be your third grade teacher this year! I hope you all had a great summer and are as eager to start the new school year as I am! We are going to have so much fun and learn so many new and exciting things!

Here is some information about me and the things that I love...

I am from Wilmington, NC. I have two children. My son, Brayden, was born on March 1, 2016 and my daughter, Ella Grace, was born on November 7, 2017. They are both students here at Polenta so you will get to see them throughout the year!

I graduated from UNC-Wilmington in 2012... Go Seahawks! I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Behavioral Studies and a minor in Psychology. I also have my AIG (Academically or Intellectually Gifted) certification. While at UNCW, I was a member of the Alpha Xi Delta sorority and the Order of Omega Greek Honor Society. In Johnston County, I have served as a mentor to beginning teachers and I am the site liaison and head coach for our Girls on the Run team. In 2020, I was a Flame for Learning (Teacher of the Year) finalist for Johnston County. I am passionate about building strong, positive relationships, creating a nurturing classroom environment, and prioritizing the social and emotional health of all of our students. I believe that practice makes progress and with a positive attitude, you can do anything that you set your mind to!

My favorite thing to do is spend time with my family and friends. Quality time with the people that I love is the most important thing to me and makes me the happiest! I also love to travel to new places and experience new things. I LOVE playing games and having fun. I also enjoy cooking and baking, shopping at Target, spending time outside, and watching NFL football. My favorite NFL teams are the Baltimore Ravens and the Carolina Panthers. Some of my favorite local places are Ugly Mug, Target, Mason Jar Tavern, and Simple Twist!

I am so excited to start our adventure together and to get to know each of you this year!
