Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education (K-6) Minor in Psychology AIG Certified
Hello! My name is Brittany Addison and I’m so excited to have the opportunity to be your third grade teacher this year! I hope you all had a great summer and are ready to start the new school year with me! We are going to have so much fun and learn so many new and exciting things!
Here are a few things about me...
I graduated from UNC-Wilmington in 2012... Go Seahawks! I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in Behavioral Studies and a minor in Psychology. I also have my AIG (Academically or Intellectually Gifted) certification. While at UNCW, I was a member of Alpha Xi Delta and Order of Omega. At West View, I am a mentor for beginning teachers and I am the site liasion and head coach for our Girls on the Run team. In 2020, I was a Flame for Learning (Teacher of the Year) finalist for Johnston County. I am passionate about creating strong, positive relationships, creating a nurturing classroom environment, and prioritizing the social and emotional health of all of our students.
I am from Wilmington, NC. I have two children. My son, Brayden, was born on March 1, 2016 and my daughter, Ella Grace, was born on November 7, 2017.
My favorite thing to do is spend time with my family and friends. I love to travel to new places and experience new things. I LOVE playing games and having fun. I also enjoy cooking and baking, shopping at Target, spending time outside, and watching NFL football. My favorite NFL teams are the Baltimore Ravens and the Carolina Panthers. Some of my favorite local places are Ugly Mug, Target, and Simple Twist!
I am so excited to start our adventure together and to get to know each of you this the year!
