Welcome to Sixth Grade Math!
I am very excited to welcome you to Swift Creek! We are going to have a great year. Although we will be learning remotely at this time, I am looking forward to getting to know all of the students and working hard to see lots of success. I believe that everyone can learn math!
I am originally from Michigan and graduated from Western Michigan University. My husband and I moved to North Carolina 21 years ago and we love it here! We have two children. My son is going to be a senior at App State University and loves the mountain life. He is majoring in Sustainable Technology. My daughter is a 2020 graduate of Cleveland High School and is very involved in soccer. She is now a freshman at Barton College and is on the soccer team there. She is a goalie so I can't wait to watch her play at the college level. I am also starting on a new adventure this year as I am starting Graduate School at Barton College in the Masters of School Administration program.

New guidance given to schools in the Strong Schools NC Public Health toolkit states that daily temperature and symptom screening questions prior to entry are no longer required. We will no longer screen individuals who enter JCPS facilities for COVID-19 symptoms. This begins on Monday, April 5 for all staff and on Monday, April 12 for students upon their return from spring break.
At a special called session on March 22, the Johnston County Board of Education voted to return students in grades 6-12 on Plan A. Effective April 12, any student who is currently receiving face-to-face instruction will attend every day except Wednesdays, which will continue to be used for deep cleaning and sanitizing.
The online application for the Johnston County Public Schools Preschool Program is now available. Parents who are interested in the JCPS Preschool Program are encouraged to apply early, as availability is on a first come, first served basis. The application window closes on June 30th.
