It is hard to believe, but I have entered my 6th year with Johnston County Public Schools! Time has flown by! I have thoroughly enjoyed my journey so far with JCPS and look forward to many more amazing years!
Previously, I was in Wake County where I started working in 2006. During my time there, I taught 4th grade for eight years and 5th grade for one year. Before that, I had teaching experiences (NC and TN) in preschool, PreK, 1st, 2nd, Title I (4th and 5th), and working with incarcerated juveniles obtaining their GED.
I grew up in the beautiful foothills of Hendersonville (near Asheville, NC) where I enjoyed hiking, driving in the snow, and being captivated by the gorgeous fall colors year after year. Little did I know that this mountain girl would end up in Wake County for too many years. The hustle and bustle of city life was draining on my husband and me. Needless to say, we were thrilled when our children graduated from high school and we were able to move out to Johnston County in the summer of 2015! We have felt truly blessed. Although I admit, this is not quite my mountain home, I can once again see the stars at night, have room for an expansive garden, and view the bountiful wildlife. I am enjoying our time here and hope to call this area home for several more years.
