Hello, My name is Christine Avery. I am returning to the Cardinal nest this year. A little about me: I am in my 21st year of teaching music in public school. I received my B.A. in Music Education from Campbell University and my Masters in Music Education from East Carolina University. (Go Camels and Pirates!!) I am married to my wonderful husband, Michael Scott Avery, part-time Spanish teacher at Carolina Charter. We have two daughters; Bethany, a graduate of East Carolina University in Graphic Design and Selah, a tenth grader at SSS in the IB program. We have two cats: Luna and Pixel.
I love teaching music and watching the kids enjoy making music and exploring the world of music.

Updated School Nutrition Information for 2022-23
We hope that you and your student have already noticed some of the exciting new food and meal opportunities we are offering in our cafeterias this school year. Our new options will include more fresh produce, vegetarian options, and opportunities for students to customize their meal choice. These new offerings will be available at both breakfast and lunch.

Kids Heart Challenge
Congratulations Dragonflies on a job well done with the Kids Heart Challenge this year!! Our school raised over $8,600 for the American Heart Association. Please make sure that all donations are complete and turned in to Coach Bullock NO LATER THAN Wednesday, March 8th. Thank you again for being a "heart hero" and helping others.

Summer Camp Opportunity
The SECU Summer Camp Awards Program is back! SECU plans to provide FAT CAT youth members, ages 12 and under along with Zard youth members, ages 13-19, with scholarships for summer camp registration and associated fees.
