Ms. Carmen Sierra

Ms. Sierra is in her five-year teaching Spanish at Clayton High School, and in her twenty-seventh year working with student affairs for the State of North Carolina and Puerto Rico. 

She is the sponsor of Clayton High School National Spanish Honor Society and Spanish Club for Clayton High School. Ms. Sierra is a member of The American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese. 

Previous to teaching Spanish at the high school level, Ms. Sierra taught English as a Second Language for English learners and Computer in Spanish for Johnston Community College.

She is a graduate of La Universidad del Este where she received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Leadership and Management. Ms. Sierra is a recipient of The Public Servant Honor given by the Puerto Rico Senate and House of Representative. She also was awarded for leadership and community service by the Distinguished Alumni Organization of the Eastern University of Puerto Rico.

Ms. Sierra has lived in the Clayton community since 2008. She is excited to be a part of the Clayton High School family!

    The Johnston County Education Foundation has changed its grant process from a three cycle a year process, to a once a year process. The grant deadline will now be November 15th each year and Grant Patrol will be held on the first Wednesday of December.
