BA in Middle Grades Education East Carolina University Certified in grades 6-9 Social Studies, Science and ELA.

Ms. Niena Varney

I am a transplanted yankee blooming in Benson.  I have decided that who you are is not always where you come from.  I was born and raised in Maine and moved to NC in 1995. We have lived, worked, played and ate in Benson ever since and I have loved every minute of it.

I received my GED with honors in 2002 from JCC.  I had the 3rd highest score in the state for that year.  I am proud to own that recognition.  I graduated with high honors from JCC with my Associates in Arts in 2011.  My crowning moment happened in 2014 when I graduated from East Carolina University with certification areas in Language Arts, Science and Social Studies.

I have 4 sons and 1 daughter-in-law, ages 19-26.  They build a beautiful and chaotic life for me and I wouldn't have it any other way.  I love my dog, my cats, Patriot Football, reading Young Adult Fiction novels and Big Brother!
