Ms. Marica Rawls

Greetings everyone, my name is Marica Rawls. I am a native of Johnston County, and grew up here in Clayton, NC. I am a very proud dog mom to Prince and I attended East Carolina University where I studied Biology and Forensic Science. I started my teaching career in Johnston County at Benson Middle school teaching 7th and 8th grade science.  This is my second year teaching Biology at Clayton High School and I am excited to be back in my hometown.

    2020-2021 Was not our typical school year but it was still amazing to say the least.  Take some time this summer to relax and have fun and get ready for another fun and exciting school year for 2021-2022! See you all in August and can't wait to hear all about your summer adventures!

    The Biology Learning Hub is a website that contains your daily notes and additional resources for you to use throughout the semester.  The Biology Learning Hub link will go live again at the start of the Fall '21 Semester.  When The site goes live please bookmark the page for easy access throughout the semester!

     

     

JCPS Announcements

  • Deadline approaching for Transportation for 2021-22 School Year

    The deadline is quickly approaching for Johnston County Public Schools families who need transportation for their students during the 2021-2022 school year. Students who will be attending Early College or Career Technical Leadership Academy, which will begin on August 2nd, have until July 22nd to request transportation. Students who will begin school on August 23rd have until August 2nd to request transportation. This date is for all other JCPS Schools on the traditional school calendar.

  • Summer Meal Service begins June 7

    As the school year comes to a close, JCPS meal service will now operate at 9 sites during the summer months.

  • JCPS Outdoor Mask Mandate Lifted

    While face masks are still required in all of our indoor facilities, students, staff, and guests of our campuses are no longer required to wear a face covering when outdoors. Students and staff may continue to wear masks when participating in recess or outdoor activities if they choose to do so.

  • 2021-2022 JCPS Preschool applications now open

    The online application for the Johnston County Public Schools Preschool Program is now available. Parents who are interested in the JCPS Preschool Program are encouraged to apply early, as availability is on a first come, first served basis. The application window closes on June 30th.

  • Pre-K - 5th Grade to return to Plan A on March 1

    The Johnston County Board of Education voted to return Pre-K - 5th grade to Plan A, four days per week, beginning on Monday, March. 1.
