Greetings everyone and welcome to my classroom, my name is Marica Rawls. I am a native of Johnston County, and grew up here in Clayton, NC. I am a very proud dog mom to 2 handsome Shihtzus, Prince & Duke. I attended East Carolina University where I studied Biology and Forensic Science. This is my 6th year teaching with JCPS and my 4th year at CHS.

We will be using google classroom throughout our course this semester. Google classroom codes will be provided to students in class on Monday August 29th. Students will need a device daily for class. Devices can be checked out for the year from the media center, but must be requested using the following link: Device Request Form

ACCESS testing for English Language Learners
North Carolina schools are required to administer ACCESS for ELLs 2.0 to all students identified as English Learners (ELs) in the spring of each year to determine their progress in learning English. Each student is tested in four areas: Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing. This assessment helps us monitor their English language development.

Updated School Nutrition Information for 2022-23
We hope that you and your student have already noticed some of the exciting new food and meal opportunities we are offering in our cafeterias this school year. Our new options will include more fresh produce, vegetarian options, and opportunities for students to customize their meal choice. These new offerings will be available at both breakfast and lunch.
