Master of School Administration Bachelor of Science Mathematics
Mrs. Tammi Kornegay
My name is Mrs. Kornegay and I teach 5th grade Math/Science here at CHES. I was born and raised in VA, but moved to NC to attend college. I graduated from Winston-Salem State University in 2001 with a B.S. in Mathematics; and East Carolina University in 2015 with an MSA in Leadership and School Administration. This year marks my 18th year in education, but my first year teaching elementary school. I'm not necessarily all new to elementary school as 5 years of my career was spent working as an Elementary Math Instructional Coach and School Administrator. Over the years, I have had the pleasure of working with some amazing educators and lots of awesome students. I am married to Marty, of 24 years and we have two children: a daughter, Kennedy, who attends Corinth Holders High School; a son, Kimar, who attends UNC-Greensboro; and a beautiful rescue pup named, Saint. I am a strong believer in family bonding and tend to spend lots of time with them traveling, visiting the beaches in Wilmington and Myrtle (my favorite), movies, and restaurant outings. I'm so excited to be working at CHES this year and look forward to building positive relationships with the parents, the staff, and the students here.
