My name is Amy Toler. I graduated from Garner High School and then graduated from Campbell University with a K-6 teaching licensure. I have been teaching at BMS for 9 years. I am excited about the start of another school year and getting to know another group of students. I have been married for 8 years and I have a 6 year old, wild and crazy, son =) I am a huge sports fan, ecspecially The Carolina Panthers and NC State!!!!!!!! I love spending time at the beach or any body of water for that matter.. I am a mermaid at heart :) I am Science Lead teacher for BMS, Member of School Improvement Team, and a beginning teacher mentor. I truley love teaching and I am super excited for the 2019-2020 school year. As always.... GO PHANTOMS!!!

Remote Learning Grading Policy
- Grades are required. The expectation is 6-9 grades per 9 weeks. These graded assignments will be based on the content and pacing of the class.
- Assignments will have to be submitted through the teacher’s designated platform (Examples: Google Classroom, Google Docs, Google Slides, Flipgrid, Padlet, etc.). Assignments may have a specific due date and time attached to them. For example, an assigned assignment may be given on Monday. The teacher may put a due date of Sunday by 9:00 pm.
- All grades will be put into PowerSchool within 3 days of the due date. This will assist students and parents with keeping track of their progress.
- It is the student's responsibility to communicate any hardships with assignment completion.
We are offering a new opportunity for our families this winter break. Parents are invited to sign up to receive holiday meal kits that will be distributed from all of our high school sites. Each meal kit will include seven days of packaged breakfast and lunch meals per child.
Every JCPS parent must fill out the Second Semester Choice form to choose either the Virtual Program OR face-to-face instruction for each of their students. The Second Semester Choice form is to be filled out for ALL students in grades PreK-12. If a child is going to participate in face-to-face instruction for the second semester, the parent will be asked to fill out transportation information for the student in the form. A form for each student should be completed by Nov. 30.
Information on social distancing in school settings has been recently updated by the NC Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS). Upon receiving information from the NCDHHS, we consulted with the Johnston County Public Health Department on the impact these updates will have on our school system. This ongoing collaboration continues to guide our decision-making as students return to classrooms for in-person instruction.
