       My name is Stephanie Caviness.  I am originally from Hampstead, NC, but moved to Johnston County 16 years ago.  I live here with my husband and two daughters.  I have been teaching here in Johnston County for 16 years.  I began my career teaching elementary school, but recently moved to middle school.  I have been teaching Science for the last 12 years and really love it.  I enjoy learning new things right along with my students.

    The NJMS Student Services Department strives to provide opportunities for our students to explore the many options that await them as they begin to plan for their future. On Monday, February 1st, our school counselors are hosting a Career Chat during JAG Time. Our guest speaker will be a representative with the Army Reserve. Please join us to learn more about this exciting career option!

  • Asynchronous Wednesdays

    Beginning Wednesday, September 16, there will be no live Google Meet sessions for students. On Wednesdays, students will have time for independent study, to complete and submit assignments if needed, and to complete posted work for the day.

  • Innovative Programs Virtual Family Information Nights Scheduled

    Johnston County Public Schools invites students and their families to learn more about our interesting options for our middle and high school students during our Virtual Information Nights on January 28 and February 4, 2021. Participants will be able to visit the virtual spaces for each program and talk with program coordinators and students from 6:00-8:00 pm.

  • JCPS transitions to Plan B for all students

    The Johnston County Board of Education voted to return all Pre-K and EC-Self Contained students to Plan B, four days per week, beginning on Tuesday, Jan. 19. These students will participate in face-to-face instruction on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, with Wednesday serving as a remote learning day. All other students in grades K-12 will remain on Plan C until Monday, Feb. 1.

    On December 8th 2020, the Johnston County School Board of Education voted to return to Plan C (Remote Learning), we would like to provide an update to parents and guardians of options to complete state-mandated End-of-Course (EOC) and Career/Technical Education Post Assessment testing.
