BFA Art Education

Ms. Kathryn Edwards

I am Kathryn Edwards and I am so excited to call Pinceton Elementary my new home! I have taught art for over 26 years. I have known that I wanted to teach art since third grade. In elementary school, art was my favorite subject! I enjoy sharing my love for art as I help others explore their creativity in fun new ways. I am a graduate of East Carolina University and have my BFA in Art Education, with a concentration in weaving and fabric design. When I am not teaching, I enjoy blogging, traveling, and painting. I am proud to be an art advocate at the Wayne County Arts Council, where I serve as a board member. Promoting the arts is my passion! I was recently married and am a cat mom to Mr. Little and Biscuit, who both keep me on my toes! My favorite art quote is by Pablo Picasso, "Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain one once we grow up."

Thank you for allowing me to teach your child. I can't wait to share the work of our amazing young artists!
