Masters Degree in Special Education from Western Governors University Elementary Education Degree with Middle School ELA and Science from the University of Central Oklahoma

Mrs. Stephanie Carroll

I am so excited for the opportunity to be an Eagle at Clayton Middle School! I have spent most of my life in the Sooner State of Oklahoma (Boomer Sooner!!). I have 4 grown kiddos who live in Illinois, Colorado, Oklahoma, and Virginia. Their names are Emily, Katie, William, and LaDena. I also have 5 grands named Caroline, Dontae, Nova, Hyperion, and Ridley. I moved to Ohio a few years ago, where I met and subsequently married my husband, David. We decided we wanted to live where the people and the weather were warmer, so we chose North Carolina and here we are! We finally get to live in our forever home in Clayton along with our 2 pups, Patsy and Tanner.

I earned my Bachelor's degree from the University of Central Oklahoma in Elementary and Middle Education and my Master's degree from Western Governors University in Special Education. I have been an educator for 24 years in a variety of grade levels and subject areas from third grade reading to eighth grade math and just about everything in between. I have coached my share of sports too including middle school basketball, cheer, and high school softball. I am coaching volleyball at Clayton this year and it's amazing! I truly enjoy watching my students strive to do their best in the classroom and on the field or court. On the weekends you will find me watching sports, hiking, reading a book, enjoying the beach, on a nice bike ride with my husband, or exploring Clayton.

I'm looking forward to a wonderful school year and meeting some terrific educators, staff, parents, community members, and, of course, students!
