Mr. Ceylon Williams

I am Chief Warrant Officer Williams the Senior Naval Science Instructor at Smithfield-Selma High School's Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC). Cadets usually address me as "Warrant" the Navy short title for warrant officers. This is my seventh year teaching NJROTC, but first year at SSS. I previously taught at Calvert High School in Prince Frederick, Maryland for six years.

Before transitioning to the teaching profession, I served 23 years as an active duty Marine. During this time, I served in many places such as Camp Lejeune, NC, Camp Pendleton, CA, Okinawa Japan, Parris Island, SC, and Fort Leonard Wood, MO. While stationed at many of these locations, I deployed throughout the world to places like Iraq, Afghanistan, and multiple countries in Southeast Asia.

I'm excited about returning to North Carolina and assisting students with college and career planning. NJROTC does not require any military service as we are about citizenship development. If you would like to learn more about the program, please visit our unit website SSS NJROTC or send me an email ceylonwilliams@johnston.k12.nc.us with any questions.
