Degrees and Certifications:
My name is Mrs. Patelos and I am your child's teacher this year! Welcome to my page!
I have been a teacher for 16 years. I went to St Francis College in New York City for my Bachelor's degree. Then I continued my way to Touro College, where I obtained a double Masters degree in Education. I began my journey as a teacher in the public school I went to when I was a child, in New York. I was fortunate to work alongside my teachers.
After meeting my husband who was born and raised in North Carolina, I moved down here, leaving the big city behind. Hearing such great things about Johnston County, I was so fortunate to be able to work here, in such a great school.
I absolutely love what I do everyday. I am very dedicated to my work and to my students and my main goal is to see them all succeed in their own ways. I am a big advocate of parent/teacher communication. It is so important to have that communication between us, throughout the whole year. Together we can help your child succeed in the second grade.

Information on social distancing in school settings has been recently updated by the NC Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS). Upon receiving information from the NCDHHS, we consulted with the Johnston County Public Health Department on the impact these updates will have on our school system. This ongoing collaboration continues to guide our decision-making as students return to classrooms for in-person instruction.
As students in grades K-5 begin returning to school, the curbside locations for free meals will now be located at each middle and high school. The curbside meal locations at our elementary schools will end on Friday, Oct. 2 and will open at the middle and high schools on Monday, Oct. 5.
The Johnston County Board of Education approved a back to school plan at a special called session on Thursday, Sept. 25.
