Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Ashley Wilson

My name is Ashley Wilson and I am your GKE School Counselor. I attended UNC Pembroke and received my undergraduate degree in Sociology with a minor in Criminal Justice. I later returned to school at Capella University to obtain my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have been working in the Mental Health field since 2010! In my 10+ years in the field, I have worked with at-risk youth, individuals who live with Autism and Down Syndrome, and adults who live with a severe and persistent mental illness, such as Schizophrenia. In 2021, I became licensed as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor- Associate (LCMHC-A). Some of my previous employers include non-profits and UNC.

I absolutely adore all people and my goal in my life is to help everyone feel welcomed, loved, and plant seeds of hope and love in all. We all have to navigate difficult times and some of us have more barriers than others, but that does not mean that that is the end for you. I firmly believe that with the right nutrients in life (not just food), but support, coping skills, love, and feeling seen and heard, then people can truly reach their full potential.
