I have been teaching for 27 years, 17 of those here at Wilson's Mills. I graduated from East Carolina University with a B.S. degree in Elementary Education, K-5. I am certified in Reading K-12, General Elementary Education and Academically Gifted K-12. I also have National Board Certification in Early/Middle Literacy.

I am a reading specialist at Wilson's Mills Elementary and reading is my passion!  Welcome to Literacy!  

My vision and mission is to create, ignite and encourage a passion for reading within all students here at Wilson's Mills. It is through this passion that students will READ! As with anything else, the more of something we do....the better we get at it!  Reading is the foundation among which all knowledge and learning are built so..... READ READ READ!!!

    Johnston County Public Schools will begin using Here Comes the Bus in the 2019-2020 school year! Here Comes the Bus is a school bus tracking app that gives parents real-time bus location information and alerts to get students to the bus stop on time. The app is expected to roll out by the first day of school, August 26...

  • New deadline in JCEF grant process

    The Johnston County Education Foundation has changed its grant process from a three cycle a year process, to a once a year process. The grant deadline will now be November 15th each year and Grant Patrol will be held on the first Wednesday of December.
