Mrs. Tracie Johnson

I am Mrs. Johnson.  Most of the kids here call me "Mrs. Tracie Johnson".   I got that full name call when there were six teachers here with the last name of Johnson and it STUCK.   I love it though!   
I graduated from Campbell University with a degree in Education.   Since then, I have become a literacy/reading specialist.  I am AIG certified.   

I live in Benson, but I grew up in Erwin!  My husband and I have two sons, 25 and 19 years old.   We are a baseball family!   Both of my boys have played ball forever and both are college athletes.  My youngest will begin his sophomore year at HPU where he pitches and plays outfield.  We attend Benson United Methodist Church and feel so blessed to have such a wonderful church family!  

I have just completed my 28th year of teaching!  I am so excited that in two years, I get to retire.  I will miss working with kids so much, but I am sure in two years....I will be ready to be home!  :)  

My passion is helping others.   I love teaching kids to read.  I love helping anyone in need. I do that at BES by heading up the mentor (BUDDY) program, working on the canned food drive, and heading up the Read for Life Day to raise money for the American Cancer Society.
