Welcome to my webpage!
Hi my name is Rebecca Quinn; this is my seventh year at Benson Elementary! I have taught 2nd and 1st grade and look forward to another fun year in 1st! I graduated from Campbell University and received my teaching licensure in 2013. I have served in the Army and North Carolina National Guard and retired after 20 years of service! My husband also retired from the North Carolina National Guard and we have three children. I enjoy working at BES and am thankful to be part of this great school and community!

Free/Reduced Lunch Applications
As you know, all students were able to have free breakfast & Lunch this school year. If you do not complete the lunch application for the current school year, your child will be required to purchase breakfast and lunch at the beginning of 2022-2023 school year until their application is approved.

Come out for a Holiday Car Drive Thru with your family to see your teachers, holiday lights, music, and so much more! (Please stay in your vehicle) Thursday, December 16th 6:00-7:30pm.

Red Ribbon Week
What Is Red Ribbon Week? It is an ideal way for people and communities to unite and take a visible stand against drugs. Show your personal commitment to a drug-free lifestyle through the symbol of the Red Ribbon, October 23 - 31st. The mission of the Red Ribbon Campaign is to present a unified and visible commitment towards the creation of a drug-free America.

JC Board of Education Budget Work Session set for June 29
The Johnston County Board of Education will meet virtually to hold a special work session to discuss and vote on items for the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 budgets. The meeting and all announcements will be accessible to the public via the livestream available online.

JCPS Summer Hours
Johnston County Public Schools will be moving to summer office hours on June 13. School and district offices will operate on a four-day work week. Offices will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Wednesdays and 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursdays. The summer schedule will continue until August 11. All offices will be closed on July 4.

2022 Summer Information Fair Dates Set
Johnston County Public Schools is always striving to provide students and families with exemplary service. In most cases, school bus transportation is essential for many students to access a quality education. In order to meet our daily goal, it is necessary to implement change that enhances and improves our overall operation. As we prepare for the 2022-2023 school year, JCPS Transportation Services and School Nutrition will be hosting a Summer Information Fair at each high school.

2022 Growth Needs Update
Johnston County Public Schools Chief of Facilities and Construction Brooks Moore presented the 2022 Growth Needs Update to the Johnston County Board of Education at their March meeting.
