Welcome to my school webpage!  My name is Michelle Byrd. I am from Johnston County. My husband and I have two children.  I have been teaching in Johnston County for 26 years. This will be my ninth year working at Benson Elementary.  I will be teaching first grade during the 2022-23 school year. I look forward to seeing the amazing growth my new students are able to make in one year.

    As you know, all students were able to have free breakfast & Lunch this school year.  If you do not complete the lunch application for the current school year, your child will be required to purchase breakfast and lunch at the beginning of 2022-2023 school year until their application is approved.

  • Updated School Nutrition Information for 2022-23

    We hope that you and your student have already noticed some of the exciting new food and  meal opportunities we are offering in our cafeterias this school year. Our new options will include more fresh produce, vegetarian options, and opportunities for students to customize their meal choice. These new offerings will be available at both breakfast and lunch.
