Miss Sarah Butler
Hi Puma Families!
I am looking forward to the 2022-2023 school year with you!
This will be the start of my 3rd year as a school counselor and I can't wait to see what this year brings as the 3-5 School Counselor. I was born and raised in Benson, North Carolina, where I also currently reside. For my education, I attended East Carolina University where I obtained my Bachelors of Science in Family and Community Services. I continued my education at Campbell University, where I obtained my Masters of Education in School Counseling. When I am not at school, I like to spend time visiting with my family and friends, traveling, reading (My favorites are suspense and thrillers), lounging in my comfy clothes while leisurely drinking my coffee, watching movies (Thrillers and Romance Comedies), and hanging out with my dog Dolly Mae. I am looking forward to working with you this year!
My Counseling Philosophy
-
When I work with students, I actively listen to their story, ask thought-provoking questions to help them discover their solutions. My goal is to empower students to believe in themselves to solve their own problems. I focus on highlighting their strengths, cultivating an empathetic relationship, and collectively working together to determine their personal, social/emotional or academic goals. In addition, I collaborate with teachers to determine the student's needs to eliminate any barriers to their learning environment.
