  • In cooperation with JCPS, DPI, NC OSFM, and NC OEMS, Clayton High School offers classes in the Law & Public Safety career cluster. Listed below are the classes we currently offer.

    Our students have the opportunity to obtain nationally recognized certifications in Firefighting, Emergency Medicine, and Emergency Management. Upon graduation, our students  have the ability, education, and hands-on experience to obtain a job in a public safety career.  The academies' focus is on public safety career education, hands-on practical applications, and the development of a well-rounded individual who will make a positive impact on our local communities in the future. We strive to make sure each  student is prepared for college and a career, so whichever they choose they can and will be successful.

  • Does it cost anything for my child to be in the fire academy?

    There is no cost to be in the fire academy. There may be some apparel or gear your student might want to purchase to help them with their educational experience, but there is no requirement as all the necessities will be provided by the school system, CHS, or a local public safety entity. The only requirement is effort to be successful in class.

  • Who can attend the Fire Academy at Clayton High School?
