Contact Me - Welcome to Miss Rodia's Kindergarten Class

Welcome to our classroom webpage!  I’m a 3rd grade teacher here at Benson Elementary.  This is my fifth year teaching at Benson Elementary.  It's my fourth year in third grade; I taught one year in first grade.  I graduated from East Carolina University in December of 2015 with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in reading grades K-12.

Some of my favorite things are spending time with my husband, our daughter Blakelyn, and our 2 dogs (Carter & Butch), Camping, and Reading.

    I am currently teaching Reading and Social Studies virtually to our third grade students.  We have our Google Meets on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:00am-9:30am.  My office hours are everyday from 10:00am-10:30am for anyone who has questions, needs any help with assignments, or needs clarification on assignments.  Please send me an email or call me at the school to schedule a Google Meet or conference during my Office Hours.

    Johnston County Public Schools has developed a detailed plan to mark senior milestones, including prom and graduation, while adhering to guidance from the Johnston County Public Health Department and the CDC in regards to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

    The Johnston County Board of Education voted to return Pre-K - 5th grade to Plan A, four days per week, beginning on Monday, March. 1.

  • JCPS transitions to Plan B for all students

    The Johnston County Board of Education voted to return all Pre-K and EC-Self Contained students to Plan B, four days per week, beginning on Tuesday, Jan. 19. These students will participate in face-to-face instruction on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, with Wednesday serving as a remote learning day. All other students in grades K-12 will remain on Plan C until Monday, Feb. 1.

  • Second Semester Choice Form

    Every JCPS parent was to fill ou the Second Semester Choice form to choose either the Virtual Program OR face-to-face instruction for each of their students by Monday, Nov. 30. If you were unable to fill out the form by Nov. 30 please contact your child's school for assistance. The form was to be filled out for ALL students in grades PreK-12.
