Hello Lynx families!

I am excited about being in my 13th year in education and in my second year at the Virtual Academy.  I am currently teaching second grade ELA and Social Studies.  I am also the VA's CTA (Certified Technical Assistant), handling technical issues. 

I grew up in eastern North Carolina.  After graduating from UNC-Wilmington, I began my career with JCPS as an Exceptional Children's teacher, eventually graduating from ECU with my Master's in Library Science at ECU and becoming a school media coordinator.   

My husband Andy, daughter Emily, and son Abe live in Clayton.  We have an ever growing number of animals, including three chihuahuas, a cat, a crested gecko, a beta fish, two parakeets, four turtles, nine pond fish, two bunnies, and over 40 chickens.  Aside from caring for our mini animal farm, I enjoy reading, gardening, and spending time with my family.
