 All About Me: 

 Welcome to my page! My name is Ashley Barbour. I am from Dunn, NC. I graduated from Campbell University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. I am happily married to my wonderful husband, Dusty, for 4 years. We have a sweet maltipoo, Tucker. We have 1 daughter, Emalyn Kate.  I have been teaching in Johnston County for 7 years; this year is my 9th year. I have taught at Benson Elementary all 6 years, 1 year in 2nd grade, 4 years in kindergarten and 1 year in 1st grade. This is my 3rd year at McGees Elementary. My first year I taught Kindergarten and this is my 2nd year teaching 3rd Grade. I love 3rd grade and enjoy working with sweet 3rd graders.I am excited and honored to get to share in your child's third grade year. I love teaching with my whole heart; it is my passion to see students learn new things and show amazing growth each year. I hope to help all of my students make wonderful memories and develop a deep love of learning.     Johnston County Public Schools has developed a detailed plan to mark senior milestones, including prom and graduation, while adhering to guidance from the Johnston County Public Health Department and the CDC in regards to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

  • Pre-K - 5th Grade to return to Plan A on March 1

    The Johnston County Board of Education voted to return Pre-K - 5th grade to Plan A, four days per week, beginning on Monday, March. 1.

  • JCPS transitions to Plan B for all students

    The Johnston County Board of Education voted to return all Pre-K and EC-Self Contained students to Plan B, four days per week, beginning on Tuesday, Jan. 19. These students will participate in face-to-face instruction on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, with Wednesday serving as a remote learning day. All other students in grades K-12 will remain on Plan C until Monday, Feb. 1.

  • Second Semester Choice Form

    Every JCPS parent was to fill ou the Second Semester Choice form to choose either the Virtual Program OR face-to-face instruction for each of their students by Monday, Nov. 30. If you were unable to fill out the form by Nov. 30 please contact your child's school for assistance. The form was to be filled out for ALL students in grades PreK-12.
