Mrs. Melissa Bilyeu ("BILL-yoo")

You can find Mrs. Bilyeu's English class upstairs in room 731.


Prior to teaching, Mrs. Bilyeu had a career in corporate communications. She began her teaching career in 2005 at West Johnston High School (2005-2014), continued at Enloe Magnet High School in Raleigh from 2014-2021, and joined Comet Country in 2021!


Mrs. Bilyeu has a BA in English and is certified to teach Secondary English as a graduate of NC State University. Additionally, she holds AIG certification from JCPS/Barton College, AP English Language & Composition certification from The College Board/Meredith College, and earned her Masters in School Administration from East Carolina University.


Mrs. Bilyeu and her family live in the Cleveland community; she and her husband have a blended family with 4 children (ages 22 to 16) and a Gramma (93!). In her free time, Mrs. Bilyeu enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with friends and family. In 2021, Mrs. Bilyeu and her husband traveled to the Pacific Northwest, visiting 4 national parks in Washington and Oregon; in 2022, they traveled to Canada and Key West (twice!).


The Bilyeus have one Yellow Labrador named Daisy, an English Bulldog named Mocha, and two cats (Kacie and Andy -- references to their beloved Kansas City Chiefs).

  • JCPS to implement state-of-the-art security systems

    At the November Regular Session Board of Education meeting, the Board voted unanimously to improve safety and security in Johnston County Public Schools by implementing state-of-the-art security systems in each of the district’s schools.

  • Updated School Nutrition Information for 2022-23

    We hope that you and your student have already noticed some of the exciting new food and  meal opportunities we are offering in our cafeterias this school year. Our new options will include more fresh produce, vegetarian options, and opportunities for students to customize their meal choice. These new offerings will be available at both breakfast and lunch.
