Tracy Tant

A little bit about me - I grew up in Clayton. I currently live in Archer Lodge with my husband, Frankie, and we have two daughters, Sydney and Paris.  When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my grand daughter, Billie Anne. My 28 year teaching career has been spent in Clayton area schools. I taught 5th grade math and science for many years before coming to middle school to teach 6th grade science. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from UNCW. I also obtained a Master's degree in Counselor Education from NC State. In addition to being a classroom teacher, I have also worked as an elementary school counselor. Other certifications: AIG; National Board Certified Teacher (1998 - 2018; I chose not to renew that certification after 2018).

  • Please make sure to check your student JCPS email account for an invitation from me to join my Google Classroom. Go ahead and join the classroom before Monday, August 17 because Google Classroom is where you will have to go in order to get the meeting code for our first live teaching session in Google Meet scheduled for Monday. Also, Google Classroom is where all of your science assignments will be posted as well as where you will submit those assignments to me.

  • Updated Social Distancing Procedures

Information on social distancing in school settings has been recently updated by the NC Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS). Upon receiving information from the NCDHHS, we consulted with the Johnston County Public Health Department on the impact these updates will have on our school system. This ongoing collaboration continues to guide our decision-making as students return to classrooms for in-person instruction.
