Ms. Meagan Walton

Welcome to Second Grade!

Hi Eagles! My name is Meagan Walton, and I am so excited to be a part of the West Smithfield team! I attended Guilford College in Greensboro, North Carolina where I double majored in Peace and Conflict Studies and Psychology and minored in Elementary Education. I later earned my Master of Arts in Teaching from North Carolina State University! Go Pack! I have an amazing fiancé named Jeff, an adorable dog named Tyson, and a ball python named Noodle! When I am not teaching, I love to read, draw, hike, kayak, go to the beach, travel, and bird watch. I am also a HUGE Philadelphia Eagles fan! Fly Eagles Fly! I am so excited for this year; we are going to work hard, have fun, and learn together!

As part of the Read to Achieve law (G.S. §115C-83.1) passed by the General Assembly in 2012, your child will take the Beginning-of-Grade 3 (BOG3) Reading Test to establish a baseline measure of beginning third-grade reading skills.
