Mrs. Melissa Borkowski

I am originally from the Pittsburgh area and moved to North Carolina in 1995 to start my teaching career. I earned my teaching degree at Grove City College in Grove City, PA. My first 21 years of teaching were in elementary grades, the last 5 years have been at ALMS teaching 6th grade Science. My husband and I have been married for 29 years.   I have two children; my son is 23 and has a double degree in criminal justice and forensic Science. My daughter is a rising Senior at Cleveland High School.

My favorites are traveling, the beach, reading, spending time with family, starbucks, chocolate and of course teaching!

  • I will be using the remind app to communicate different announcements and reminders. Please join by texting the message @bork06 to 81010.

Also, I will be using Google Classroom as the platform to share messages and assignments with the students when needed. This is especially important if your child is absent for several days. I can send them notes, reminders, assignments, etc for both Math and Science.

Remember all students should complete 5 dreambox lessons everyweek (Math) as well as 5 Lexia (Reading) lessons every week. This will be a grade based on completion.
