Good Evening Explorer Nation! This is Mr. Jones, your 2021 East Clayton Elementary School Summer Learning Site Coordinator. Here are a few logistical items I would like to share with you:
The Summer Learning Program will begin at 8:10AM and will end at 3:45PM, Monday through Thursday, beginning Monday, June 7th and ending on July 15th. There will be no school on Monday, July 5th for students and staff due to the observance of the 4th of July Holiday.
If your child is going to be a car rider, then you will bring your child to school through the normal morning car rider procedures. You will also need a Summer Learning car tag. These can be picked up from Mrs. Crumpler beginning June 4th at 9:30AM in the main office. If your child is going to be a bus rider, you should be getting a phone call from your child's bus driver by Friday, June 4th.
Students will be provided with the school materials and supplies needed for the Summer Learning Program. However, you can still send materials and supplies with your child if you choose if you are more comfortable with that option.
Lunch and breakfast will be provided each school day. Students still have the option to bring lunch from home if they choose.
Your child’s Summer Learning teacher will be contacting you this week to introduce themselves and provide you with your child’s daily class schedule.
Cleanliness and sanitation will continue during the Summer Learning Program. Classrooms and bathrooms will be sanitized and deep cleaned each day. Also, students and staff will continue to wear masks while in the building, but are not required while outside.
And finally, join our ECES Summer Learning Program REMIND alert. Text @ecesslp to 81010. This will be your one stop shop for all Summer Learning Program updates.
On behalf of all the East Clayton Elementary Summer Learning Program staff, we want to thank you for giving us this opportunity to help your child be successful with their learning this summer. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me here at school at 919-550-5311, extension 6805.
And as always...Go Explorer Nation!!!
