LaWanda Garcia

School Counselor (Grade 8), Student Ambassador Co-Advisor, Jr. Beta Club Co-Advisor

Hello, my name is LaWanda Garcia and I am part of the Counseling Department.  I have worked at ALMS for the past several years and I enjoy interacting with students in order to discover their interests, talents and abilities.  Although I enjoy interacting with students on a daily basis, I also enjoy traveling and volunteering.  In the past, I have spent 3 years living in Europe and have enjoyed traveling to Austria, England, Spain, Turkey – just to name a few places.   Even though I have traveled beyond the United States, I am really enjoying living in the beautiful state of North Carolina and my goal is to travel from east coast to west coast on I-40 in an RV!

  • Welcome back to school year 2018 - 2019!  I am looking forward to an awesome year ahead and I hope that I can share some valuable lessons on goal setting, conflict resolution, career development and social and study skills with students in 8th grade.

My thought for the year is a quote by Mahatma Ghandi "Be the change you wish to see in the world."
