7th Grade English Language Arts, AIG Certified, BA in English for North Carolina State University, National Board Certified, and will be done with my MS in New Literacies and Global Learning in December of 2019.

I have been teaching for 12 years, and I have been able to call myself a Gator for 11 of those years. I love to read and write and hope to share my passion with the students who enter my classroom. I look forward to beginning this year's journey with you and your child.

    The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian tells the story of Junior, a Native American boy who is determined to take his future into his own hands. He leaves his troubled school on the rez to find an education and life he feels he deserves. Heartbreaking and comical, this novel gives insight into the struggle of the search of one's identity.

    We hope that you and your student have already noticed some of the exciting new food and  meal opportunities we are offering in our cafeterias this school year. Our new options will include more fresh produce, vegetarian options, and opportunities for students to customize their meal choice. These new offerings will be available at both breakfast and lunch.
