Mrs. Shelly Creech-Parrish

Hello one and all! Welcome back to school!!!

My name is Shelly Creech-Parrish ~ Please call me Mrs. Creech. (It's just easier) This is my second year as The Art Teacher at CHES. However, I have been an educator since I was 17 years old. My life-long career started as a before/after school childcare provider over the summer of my junior year of high school. Through many years of education, lots of workplaces, and life experiences, I am finally here a proud member of the CHES family!                                                                         Fun Facts: My dad attended Corinth-Holders School back in the 1940's. I attended school at CHS when it was a K-8 school. My children attended CHES.

My childhood dream was to be an art teacher. Life happened and now I'm finally here!

I have been married to Greg Parrish for 23 years. He is a JCPS teacher at Clayton High School. We have three children; Rachel(23), Larson(21), and Colton(19).

I owned and operated Little People's Learning Center In-Home Child Care for 14 years while raising our children. During this time, I volunteered in many leadership roles with the Corinth-Holders Community Recreation League and Union Chapel OFWB Church in Middlesex.

My initial goal was to work as a Kindergarten teacher. Here's where God said watch this... I applied for several Kindergarten positions in Johnston County. However, I was not hired for any of them. So I decided to become a substitute teacher. (Get your foot in the door right?) I substituted a total of 2 days at Riverdell Elementary before I got a call from Mr. McLamb on 10/16/20 to become the long term substitute teacher for none other than the Art classroom starting 10/19/20. I was elated!!! God's plan is still in motion... On 12/14/20 I was hired as the official Art teacher for CHES!!! A dream from so many years ago, that had been placed way out of thought, has become a reality for me!

I look forward to Artfully serving the children and families of CHES!
