Mrs. Zaneh Tercheria

My name is Zaneh Tercheria and I am Smithfield Middle School's Career Investigations teacher.  Welcome to the 2022-23 school year!

About Career Investigations

In our lab you will enjoy exploring your personal interests and possibilities, which will help you to start planning for your future career!

First, you will kick off your semester-long adventure by thinking about your hopes and dreams for your future through creating a Vision Board.  Next, you will utilize XELLO surveys to learn more about your interests, personality and learning styles, and favorite industries or Career Clusters.  Then you will research and identify careers that may be a good match.

Finally, you will select a few of Paxton Patterson's 15 career workstations and jump in to learn key career-specific concepts through reading, videos, quizzes and fun hands-on activities.

About Me

After graduating from U.C. Berkeley with degrees in Economics and Business Administration, I started my career as a Marketing Specialist in California.  My first tasks were market research, product strategy, along with software and hardware product design.  I moved on to Program Management, where I coordinated computer software, hardware, and market data projects.  After 11 years in the corporate world, I decided to dedicate time to being a full-time mom of my four daughters.  I started and ran my own business as well during these 8 years working from home.    As my daughters grew older and we moved to North Carolina, I went back into the corporate career world and was honored to work my way to Director of Ecommerce for one of the largest Real Estate brokerages and teams in the country for 15 years.

I have truly enjoyed all of my career adventures - but perhaps most of all my current role as Middle School Business Teacher!  It is both challenging and fun to meet so many awesome and bright young people as we explore future possibilities together.

Personally, I have been blessed to be married to my best friend for 37 years - "Mr. T" - a Science and Math teacher here at Smithfield Middle.   Together we have four daughters, one son-in-law, and 4 "grand dogs".   For fun, I love exploring nature, new places and cultures, spending time with family and friends,home-making, gardening, and working with young people at church.

Want to chat?  I am available anytime. Just call or email me. I look forward to getting to know you!
