Ms. Alvner Strong

Hello! My name is Alvner F. Strong. I am currently serving grades k-2 here at Polenta Elementary School. It is so good to see all of you this year. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, music, Arts n’ crafts, travel, food,  love sweets! , exercise, and health & Wellness coaching. I also enjoy cosplaying ( dressing up and going to comic cons). One of my most favorite characters that I enjoy dressing up as is Wonder Woman's sister Nubia Wonder Woman. I also sell health and wellness products. I graduated from West Johnston High School in 2005. I am both a UNC Pembroke and NC Central Alumni. I am so happy to be here and look forward to continuing to work with the students and getting to know them. Number 1 Favorite Color: Purple Favorite Animal: Tiger . I also like sea turtles and sloths. Favorite Insect: butterfly and ladybug. How to Pronounce my first name: Alvner [ Av-ner].   • JCPS Outdoor Mask Mandate Lifted

    While face masks are still required in all of our indoor facilities, students, staff, and guests of our campuses are no longer required to wear a face covering when outdoors. Students and staff may continue to wear masks when participating in recess or outdoor activities if they choose to do so.

    The online application for the Johnston County Public Schools Preschool Program is now available. Parents who are interested in the JCPS Preschool Program are encouraged to apply early, as availability is on a first come, first served basis. The application window closes on June 30th.

  • JCPS releases updated graduation and prom details

    Johnston County Public Schools has updated its plan to mark senior milestones, including prom and graduation while adhering to guidance from the Johnston County Public Health Department and the CDC in regards to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

    The Johnston County Board of Education voted to return Pre-K - 5th grade to Plan A, four days per week, beginning on Monday, March. 1.
