Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Elizabeth Ham

My name is Elizabeth Ham and I am excited to be serving as your lead learner this school year!  I received my B.A. in History from the University of Mount Olive in 2014 and my M.A. in  History from UNCW in the Spring of 2020.  I have served as a middle school educator for 6 years in both Wayne and Johnston counties. For the past two years I have been employed through JCPS as a lead learner at Innovation Academy at South Campus. In addition, I serve as an adjunct instructor for Johnston Community College through the history department. I am extremely blessed to have an incredible support system in my life as I continue to learn and grow.  My family empowers me to chase my dreams and continue working to make a positive impact on the world.

At Innovation Academy,  I currently serve as a leader and learner in both the Social Studies and ELA classrooms. I often model flexibility with my content and teaching style as I believe that teaching is about meeting the needs of each and every student. I am passionate about designing relevant curriculum that empowers students to create positive change in today's world. I am also passionate about global citizenship and the components of design thinking in my classroom.I am looking forward to experiencing the journey to knowledge alongside the students, staff and leadership of Johnston County Public schools as we face the challenges presented to us together!

As an educator, leader and learner I understand that each of us come from different backgrounds, skills sets and experiences. This makes us unique and will enable us to bring different strengths to the table. I am excited to get to know more about you through this school year!
