8th Grade Science Teacher

Hello, peeps!  My name is Amy Kelly and I am the 8th grade science teacher at IA.   With more than 27 years of experience, it feels like I have been a teacher my entire life. I graduated from Elon College (now University) in 1995, where I earned a degree in elementary education.  I am also a proud graduate of Liberty University, where I earned a certificate in Biblical Studies in 2019. Within my teaching career, I have also added middle school science to my certifications and absolutely love teaching middle school!  I can proudly say that I have taught everything from 1st to 8th grade. I am currently in my fourth year in Johnston County schools, having spent 24 years in my home county of Wayne.  While in Wayne County, I earned the Teacher of the Year award three times for my school as well as earning the Elementary Teacher of the Year and Middle School Teacher of the Year for Wayne County.  I am the wife of Kenny Kelly and mother of Ivy Kelly Davis and Zac Kelly and am about to be a grandmother for the first time!  I am active in ministry in my church and community.  I love being a Pioneer and all that that embodies!
