My name is Yuliana Barragán, I was born and raised in a small town in Colombia. I have a degree in modern languages at university of Quindio, Colombia. I am a bilingual teacher with more than four years of experience in the educational field. I have worked with Reggio Emilia approach, which focus on preschool and primary education. This is my second year at Polenta Elementary.
I truly believe it is essential to provide meaningful learning in my classes. As an educator, I am willing to support and encourage my students to discover and explore their Spanish skills. One of my goals as a teacher is to focus on providing all students a relevant and challenging learning experience. I am happy for the opportunity to pursue my passion for teaching and supporting student learning.

  • JCPS transitions to Plan B for all students

    The Johnston County Board of Education voted to return all Pre-K and EC-Self Contained students to Plan B, four days per week, beginning on Tuesday, Jan. 19. These students will participate in face-to-face instruction on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, with Wednesday serving as a remote learning day. All other students in grades K-12 will remain on Plan C until Monday, Feb. 1.

    Every JCPS parent was to fill ou the Second Semester Choice form to choose either the Virtual Program OR face-to-face instruction for each of their students by Monday, Nov. 30. If you were unable to fill out the form by Nov. 30 please contact your child's school for assistance. The form was to be filled out for ALL students in grades PreK-12.
