Degrees and Certifications:
BA in Biology from Harding University MA in Curriculum and Instruction for Science Education National Board Certification in Adolescent Science
Ms. Deborah Roll
I started teaching at the age of 40 as a lateral entry teacher with a degree in Biology. I had homeschooled my 4 children for 5 years and wasn't even thinking about teachinguntil a 7th grade science teacher told me she was recommending me for her job when sheretired at the end of the year. I wasn't ready for how much I loved being in the classroomand that passion has not left me in the past 21 years. I believe ALL students have a talentor skill and that they can use it to understand the way they learn best. I am a hands on teacherwho believes that my students should experience science and then we can discover why thingsdo what they do and act the way they do. These experiences allow students to understand conceptsbetter. I work hard to find different ways for students to show me what they learn. I will always give my best because I hope to inspire my students to give their best. I have used the opportunities that have been given to me to extend my knowledge and understandingof how students this age learn the best. I have earned my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction andI have earned my National Board Certification and will be recertifying this year. I believe these opportunitiesmake me a better teacher so that my students can become better learners. I there is any way I can helpyou or your student this year, please let me know.
