Jeff Contos
I started out my professional life as an advertising copywriter but quickly realized I needed a more meaningful path. My quest brought me to the classroom in 2001 and eventually to the River Dell media center in 2008.
My primary mission as Media Specialist is to equip students with the skills necessary to successfully navigate the media-saturated world in which we now live. I also provide tech support, orchestrate book fairs, track inventories, meet with vendors...the list goes on.
Together, students and I ask questions such as What information sources do I use and when? How can I sense accuracy and truth in a message? What tools and services best address a given need? How can I produce as well as consume content?
The RDE Media Center is where we read books, create content, express opinions, research solutions, explore the world. It's a fascinating journey that teaches me as much as it does my students.
