Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. Eddie A. Castro
Greetings Choice Plus Students and Families!
I have had the honor of educating students since 2002. My teaching career has spanned several states including Maryland, Tennessee, and North Carolina. I earned a Masters's degree from Lee University focused on teaching Exceptional Children. I am very passionate about guiding our students from feelings of helplessness and being misunderstood towards the knowledge their future is hopeful, full of potential, and worth being excited about!
My background is culturally diverse with a Dominican/Puerto Rican heritage. Growing up in a Military family(Marines) afforded me the opportunity to live and visit many amazing locations. I have lived in California, New York, North Carolina, Virginia, Okinawa(Japan), Georgia, Maryland, Tennessee, and Puerto Rico! I have had the privilege of visiting Panama, Venezuela, South Korea, Bahamas, Mexico, Massachusets, South Carolina, Florida, Texas, Washington State, Washington D.C, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Las Vegas(Nevada)! Suffice it to say, Traveling is what I love doing! My Familly includes my sweet wife Samantha who has a degree from Lee University in Marriage and Family therapy.
I look forward to having a great year with everyone and helping in any way I can,

Information on social distancing in school settings has been recently updated by the NC Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS). Upon receiving information from the NCDHHS, we consulted with the Johnston County Public Health Department on the impact these updates will have on our school system. This ongoing collaboration continues to guide our decision-making as students return to classrooms for in-person instruction.
As students in grades K-5 begin returning to school, the curbside locations for free meals will now be located at each middle and high school. The curbside meal locations at our elementary schools will end on Friday, Oct. 2 and will open at the middle and high schools on Monday, Oct. 5.
The Johnston County Board of Education approved a back to school plan at a special called session on Thursday, Sept. 25.
